Quickies: The Dragon’s Psychic

New Dragon Series!

Great characters and world building. For a first in series book, the balance of new info to story was excellent. There is a lot of action, a little steam, a few laughs, and even a tear or two. The main characters get a HEA/HFN ending as this has an over arcing theme that will carry through for the next two books. This is a trilogy, but I could see room to add more stories after this set is complete. 🤞

This is a shifter story so there is insta-love and mate claiming, but it all just works. There is some violence and memories of violence, as that is part of the heroine’s main gift.

This is my first time with author Linzi Baxter. She has put her own spin on this new shifter series and her characters will pull you in from the start. I’m excited to listen to more. Hopefully the rest of this series will make it to audio soon!

This story is performed in dual POV of the two main characters Talia and Kirin. Heather Costa is new to me but I feel she did a good job, especially being paired with veteran, Jeffrey Kafer. If you listen to a lot of Sci-Fi & Fantasy like I do, Jeffrey should not be be a new narrator to you. As always, he is excellent.

I find that by adjusting the playback speed greatly improves the production. Heather played best at 0.95x and Jeffrey at 0.90x speeds. I ultimately settled for 0.90x as constant adjustments proves taxing.

Quickies: Shifters Forever: Boxed Set

Great Box Set, Hope There Is More!

This is a complete set of stories for the first paranormal series by Elle Thorne. There are many more spin-offs in the same world, but it all started with this one. It is also the first to be in audio. It’s a great value for your credits.

The world building is vivid and believable. The mythology is important as it sets up a little of everything that is and will come to be in the future titles.

There are a few times I wish I could of had just one more chapter or an epilogue with details of something mentioned in the last chapter, but I believe that is by design. It may not be the current series, but it will eventually come full circle.

This was my first experience with this author, but I definitely want more. I have already purchased the next box set.

Meghan Kelly’s performance was solid as always. Book #6 had more males in a conversation than I think she has voices for, but it wasn’t too distracting. Normally her male to female ratio of voices is spot on.

I didn’t notice any issues with the audio production. I listened at 1.00x speed.

Quickies‎: Dovis

Alien Werewolf, Trust Me, It’s Hot!

Don’t let Dovis’s outward appearance turn you away. He has another form, and it’s hot! His “skin” form is actually rare among his people, and comes with “extras”.  😉 This also makes him an outcast on his home planet, and a perfect candidate for this ragtag crew.

I simply adored Mari! She really brought the feels. Like horse in swap feels! (for my fellow 80’s children) I want to wrap her up in hugs and hide her in my pocket. Yes she fared better in slavery than most, but the poor girl doesn’t even know how old she is.

This story starts where the first one left off, as they acquire Mari from the Techie station they stopped at for upgrades in book one. Most of the action takes place on The Vorge.

It’s steamy, and like the others, it carries a “Contains mature themes” warning. So you are warned.

Laurann Dohner is a very creative author.

New Narrator, Summer Roberts also did well with both genders and the various species of aliens.

Overall 👍 and I am excited for the next series which is York’s story!

Quickies‎: Cathian

Action And Steam, With A Whole New Series.

The action was good and the story was steamy. It was a great start to a new Science Fiction Romance series. It’s not listed as an erotic series, but might as well be, given what the stories are mostly about at their core. Each book focuses on one of the crew taking a mate. And they all give a “Contains mature themes” warning.

Cathian’s needs are a bit intense and as he is the only one of his species on board the ship, it makes for a rather unique situation. He is the captain of an ambassador ship that affords him certain privileges, however he runs it with ❤, for his crew is the family he has chosen rather than of blood. There is a lot of smexy times to be had, but it is surrounded by lots of action, witty banter, and cleverness.

So excited to get to listen to Laurann Dohner’s work.

Narration was great. Callie did well with both genders and the various species of aliens.

Overall I am very excited for this new series and can’t wait to binge the rest of it!

Quickies‎: Savage Bond

Action and steam, but I wish I had more.

The action was good and the story was steamy.

It was nice to see another fallen find their mate.

The story did stray from the initial “rules” established in the last 2 books without explanation or acknowledgment. Maybe their was a possible exception for it, but as it stands, it almost invalidates the previous cannon.

It’s still enjoyable, but I wish I had more.

This novella also lost P.J.’s hot gruffy man voice from the last one as Kellie from the 1st is narrating this time. She isn’t bad, I just really wanted to hear P.J. do it.

Overall I would still recommend this especially seeing how this most likely is the last one we will get.

I’m sad, because this was a fresh idea that I would of liked to see continue.

Quickies: His Dark Bond

On the edge of my seat!

The world building is expanded, and more info is learned.

This time it is the fallen that doth protest too much.

Not that the scientist heroine is much better. She is almost too logical for her own good.

There are some crazy OMG moments, especially Zer’s action. Never saw that one coming! Its too good to spoil, but you will know what it is when it happens, trust me.

Michael’s reasoning was sound, but I still feel like he could of done “something” to help replenish things! Again, you will get what I’m saying once you get there. 😉

I like the male narrator. His voice really adds that gruff and growl that makes the fallen sound so sexy. This did not detract from the female voices as they are completely believable tones.

Cant wait to see what happens in the next one.

Sexy and Interesting!

Great new concept.

I like the secondary couple more than the main one though.

Mischka doth protest too much!

The killer of the story was super creepy.

I will be listening to the next in the series to see what happens next.

First Impressions: Dragon Reborn

I need to use up my Hoopla credits before the program is dropped on the 1st. So this is going to be a quick first impression until later.

I also couldn’t wait to read the next in the Dragon Point series. This was just released 12-28-17!
Which was yesterday!

This is one of the reasons I put up with Hoopla’s often frustrating interface.

It has a HEA, but it also sets up the next one.

Deka was AWESOME!

Dragon Reborn by Eve Langlais is book 5 in the series.

Chandra Skyye made it even better.

This one Doesn’t disappoint!

The female dragons are crazy and I love them.
You will find out more pieces to the puzzle, but you know it’s not the final word, because that’s not Eve’s style! Which I also love!

This was Num, Num, Num, delicious!

First Impressions: Billionaire Romance 5 Book Collection

Hot and Smexy x5!

My First impression of Billionaire Romance 5 Book Collection.
This title includes Books: Forbidden Lust, Fleeting Love, Mine, Always, Bobbie and the Billionaire, The Billionaire and the Babysitter

This is a collection not a series.
It has hot billionaires, smexy stories, and you get 5 for the price of 1!

You can’t go wrong if you use a credit on this one, unless you don’t like smexy billionaires.

Let’s be real here, you wouldn’t even be reading this right now if you weren’t interested?

A full proper review will come soon, as I intend to do each one of these included titles individually as well as an overall review for this set. 🙂

(From Blurb) WARNING – These stories contain steamy scenes and are not suitable for all ages. 18+
