♥ Story ♥

Iris in Bloom is about, you guessed it, Iris. She is a bakery master, a published author, and a shoulder to cry on for the town.

Iris ❤ Geoff

Iris Chance is turning 33 and her baby clock is ticking loud. Being the eldest female child among the Chance siblings, she has always been the secondary mom. The small pool of eligible partners leads her to the fertility clinic. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and she has that in spades with all the Chance clan. Iris is set on her plan, but meeting the hot new English teacher puts her mind into a spin.

Geoff McLeod left L.A. after his wife ended their marriage via text. He came to Hidden Falls for a fresh start. He left his lawyer friend to handle his divorce but is still technically married on paper. His outlook on love was grimm, until he stops at the Sunflower Coffee and Tea Company. That’s when he meets Her, and his whole life changes.

“O Captain! My Captain!”
—Dead Poets Society

Iris in Bloom will inspire lots of nail biting moments that will leave you yelling in your head, or out loud, things like wait, hurry, and listen. Those that were alive in the late 80’s will feel a need to stand on something to recite the above quote. There is the most interesting, yet touching re-gift ever! There is no epilogue which leads me to think that part #3 will start close to where this one ends, hopefully. This is a great edition to the Take A Chance Series, and I can’t wait for more!

♥ Story ♥

This is the first full title in the Take A Chance Series. All of the full titles focus on one of the 11 siblings of the Chance family. First up is Evan. He is in the upper middle of the brood.

Evan ❤ Caitlyn

Evan Chance is turning 35. His mom gives him the bucket/to-do list he wrote when he was 12. Aside from being rich, he hasn’t accomplished much else. A tragedy close to his heart, makes him realize that there is not always another day. He decides to quit his lucrative job as a corporate lawyer and set out to complete his list. He doesn’t get far before fate sets him on a different path. A mop of a dog runs in front of his bike and that starts a whole new adventure. The town he finds himself in, just won’t let him escape. It’s in a funny way, not a creepy children of the corn kind of way.

Caitlyn Sorenson is the local doctor. She took over her grandfather’s practice. Evan ends up on her doorstep with the dog, because the sheriff was trying to play a prank on her when he says she’s a vet not a people doctor. Of course she is taken with the hunky biker, but tries to be professional. Evan doesn’t make it easy for her to resist by putting his lawyering skills to use.

EVAN’S AMAZING LIFE LIST
Make a million dollars before age 30.
Ride a motorcycle across the country
Kiss a girl in the rain
Run a marathon
Learn Spanish
Have sex with a woman!
Learn to play an instrument
Travel to India
Fly a plane
Scuba dive a ship wreck
Swim in every ocean
Swim with dolphins
Hike the Grand Canyon
Leave the world a better place than I found it

The angst is low, which I appreciate. The two love birds do face some settling down issues. I think Caitlyn is a bit of a late grower in that department, but it all works out in the end. We get to meet a good chunk of the other siblings in the beginning of this story. I look forward to all of their stories!

♥ Story ♥

This is a Prequel to the whole Take A Chance Series. It’s a short novella that let you see just how Jack and Daphne met. Their names are so close to Jack and Diane that I can’t help myself from calling them that. Please keep in mind the time frame of this story. Things that are acceptable today, were very much NOT in the 70’s.

Daphne ❤ Jack

All of this story takes place on June 17, 1976 upon a Greyhound bus heading from California to Oregon. 18 yr old Daphne is on her way to live with her great aunt after finding herself in an unplanned family way. Jack is on his way to Eugene in an effort to re-write his life story. These two just connect and its quite touching.

Its short but insightful. I will probably want to go back and re-listen to Chance Encounter, after I’m finished with #4 because it will probably carry more weight at that point. It’s a great bonus to this delightful series. Take a Chance!
