This is short and not quite what I have come to expect from Cynthia Mendoza. As elephants are known to have prehensile male parts, I was expecting something interesting. That did not come to pass, as this is your standard shifter tale.

Kelly is on a romantic holiday, which is a last ditch effort to mend things with her rocker boyfriend. He is a cheater that apparently never got caught red handed and is good at making excuses. A freak accident lands Kelly in the hands of a prince who is taken with her in an instant. Of course! This story ends with a HFN ending, but it does continue in part 2, so you may want to go ahead and get the whole series now so you can easily go on to part 2! All parts are in the Audible Romance Package.

This was entertaining but feels a bit all over the place. A lot of stay or go conflict with no clear direction or emotion. You feel for Prince Chakrii, but feeling like Kelly deserves him is a bit harder. I am looking forward to part 2 and a better resolution than what is currently being presented.

Cynthia Mendoza writes a lot of short fiction, that is great when it is just a singular title, but I would recommend looking for the series in a whole collection, which are out there.

First Steps in a New Romance!

Intercepted by Love: Part 1 is quite literally that, the first title in the Quarterback’s Heart Series out of 6, by Rachelle Ayala.

Cade Prescott is a professional quarterback hiding out after a Super Bowl loss, as well as other bad press. He meets Andie Wales in the library while she is doing research on bad boys of old. They may not have a love connection at first, but their dogs have no issue taking things to the next level. While dealing with the health and welfare of their future litter, things shift for these canine owners.

Cade’s past can’t be avoided, and there are others in town that also want to make a name for themselves. Particularly a co-worker that will inspire you to want to commit fictional violence. You can read my rant in my First Impressions post for more details.

This story ends in a cliffhanger, so you may want to go ahead and get the whole series now so you can easily go on to part 2! All parts are on the Audible’s Romance Package. I am going to have to do this myself, because I am impatient and I gotta find out how it all ends!

This is a PG story, but still entertaining! The characters are endearing and make you want hear more so you can see how it turns out for the rest of the cousins.

Neither one of the main characters really want to be part of the “Vacation Bride“, but do so reluctantly to benefit their loved ones. I don’t blame them, because this show is completely ridiculous! The sad thing is, I can totally see girls doing this in real life. It’s basically a combination of several reality shows in one.

All participants get to bring one stylist with them, and our heroine, Anna,  brings her father. Not as disastrous as you would think. As with most reality dating show, most of the girls are B@#$hes to each other but sluts to the Bachelor, and that causes all kinds of crazy. The most crazy cake is taken by the Host of this lovely program. Trust me, she is evil! To prevent spoilers in this review, please see the Read Along  if you want more details.

It’s worth the credit if you don’t have a subscription to the Audible’s Romance Package. Book #2 is also in the plan and I can’t wait to listen!

Sky Corgan is normally known for her more racier reads, but this one is more action than spice. If you don’t like hot sex and dirty talk you can just skip chapter 8, and you should be good.

In the hands of the Beast, she doesn’t cower. She is determined to rescue herself. She isn’t without honor though. When he comes to her rescue, she can’t leave him to die, and thus begins their true story.

I love the use of modern day science to tell this adaptation of a classic fairy tale. It makes the story more real. The sexy fun times in the middle make it even better. The new twists keep it fresh and make it a great listen.

The Revenge Games Duet is different than what I have listened to thus far from Sky Corgan.

Part one, Revenge Games, is practically clean. Most naughty words were used in anger and not lust.

Willow Stroop is our heroine, and it sets up two potential heros in Caleb Ryan and Peter Burgett. I kept waiting for it to turn into a menage, or lay the ground work for it to unfold in part two. It’s still a possibility, but I don’t think it will be that kind of story at all.

This changes points of view amongst all the main players: Willow, Caleb, Peter, and Becky. It’s curious to see the story through all the different eyes. It also helps soften some of their more harsher aspects.

I have mixed emotions. I want to root for Willow and her adventures to claim a new life. One that is free from all the strife of her childhood experiences. Obtain that guy you think is just out of reach, make the mean girls eat their words, and make all the guys that didn’t give you the time of day, drool as you dismiss them like that they did you. However, she makes it very hard. She is a bit of an A-hole. The fact that Peter is a bit of an A-hole too, makes them meant for each other. All of which leaves you feeling bad for Caleb.

I’m hoping for more in part 2. Perhaps a new love interest for Caleb, because the other female, Becky, is not a good choice for him either. Despite the HFN ending, I think it needs part 2 to make it whole.
