Read Along With Me: The Two-Night One-Night Stand Part 03

@ Chapter 06

Ok, maybe breast man isn’t her friend’s brother so she’s not an asshole, but I’m holding final judgement on that until we find out for sure.

The ghost comment was priceless!

Doctor hottie is adorkable and probably 10 times better than her original date! Yeah, he knew and didn’t say anything, but he made sure she had a good time. A really good time!

@ Chapter 07

Jane definitely has a filter issue!

I can’t tell if she is trying to push her brother off on her because she wants him to get out of her hair, or if she actually cares for either one of them.

Mathew is not faring much better and these people are supposed to be his loving family! Poor baby, you need a hug!

@ Chapter 08

So he is hot but a douche-bag! Pretty much what his sister Jane comes across as being, so she probably thinks he’s a great catch since she doesn’t realize what a douche-bag she is either.

Every time she says laser shark I can’t help but think of the character from the recent Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Taserface! Sorry.

During the whole “incident” I was screaming in my head, “Go to Mathew’s Hospital!” because she has got it get back to him somehow.

You had me at the title!

Wow, does that guy have a deep voice or what! Wasn’t expecting that. Tor Thom be still my little heart!

Sooooo…… deep voice dude is a dick!

Hope we don’t see him again! But I’m sure that’s too much to ask. I’m sure he will come slinking back later in the book to make hell for our heroine.  🙁

Review: Feign: A Poetic Collection, Volume 1

My Reviews
Written word equivalent of a power ballad!

This collection of poetry is the written word equivalent of power ballad!
–It can be a cry for pinning love, the tears of losing love, or the angry middle finger to the one that did you wrong!

Leanne Yau really did this audiobook justice! I had the feels even if I had no clue what was going on in the poem.

This is very intense and passionate poetry. It says there is a little bit of everything but many of the pieces were dark and angsty.

This was not so much for me, as I am fairly stable in my love life, but I would highly recommend this to those of you out there that are not in the same place in life, especially if you are in the dating pool.

Overall I give this 4 of 5 stars!

At first I thought there wasn’t a mix-up. Something had to be up given how cryptic her “friend” was being. That friend of hers comes across as a bit selfish. Not getting good vibes here!

If the breast exam man is the true date, then her friend is an asshole! That means all that giggling really was mean spite, and that makes her a super asshole! Since that would make him her brother, then they are a family of assholes!

A talking “Peen” is really not that far off from what actually happens in a man’s head. We all know men too often use the head below their belt over the one on their shoulders. This way its more comical and oddly enough less creepy.

Review: The Billionaire’s Christmas by J. S. Scott

My Reviews
Good Start to the Series

This is just a novella, so it is considered number 0.05 of the series, but it’s still the beginning.

We get a good introduction to the Sinclair family as we start with Grady, the Amesport Beast.

This short story is a play on the Beauty and the Beast classic, minus the fantasy elements. Grady Sinclair is our Beast and Emily Ashworth is our Beauty. There is still a castle of a house and hiding hero, but Grady is not quite as beastly as he is made out to be. He is just a recluse with a social anxiety issue. Our Beauty, however, does make a deal out of desperation.

Grady is adorkable and totally going on my book boyfriend list!

By the end of the book, all the Sinclair children have been introduced. It is not totally clear on their birth order, but the prologue leads to a different impressions than the epilogue does.

There are characters mentioned that are part of another series by J. S. Scott, so if you have read The Billionaire’s Obsession Series, some people in this one will be familiar to you. Given how tight these boys are, I wonder if Grady has already shown up in that series. It is quite possible that all the Sinclair siblings have made appearances, but I have not read that one yet.

The narrator Elizabeth Powers is excellent, however the volume level of the recording is not consistent. The whispers that are used to represent the heroine thoughts, get so low to the point that the volume needs to be raised to hear what is being said. This consistently takes you out of the story because of the need to constantly adjust the volume, which is not always easy to do on certain devices.

Overall I give this 5 of 5 stars! And can’t wait to get started on the next one!
