@ Chapter 01
What a good start!
I was pulled in right away and really want to see where this goes.
The narrator has a good voice but the pacing seemed a bit too fast. This could just be me, but thankfully Audible allows for speed changes which totally did the trick.
Chapter 2 confuses me a little in the wording. The term “abbess” is used as if the person in reference runs a brothel or something similar to a prostitution ring. I always thought an abbess was the term for a female abbot, but the way it is referenced here makes me think that this is not the case. Maybe nuns did that back in the day, but I’m thinking it’s a reference to something else that, as an American, I don’t get. If anyone out there is from England or aware of the reference, please comment below. I would very much like to know and understand. As far as the story goes, however, you won’t be lost. The meaning the author is trying to convey is quite clear. I am just far to nerdy for my good. 🙂
