♥ Story ♥

Eating right today with all of our busy lives can be difficult at best. Finding excuses is easy. The author even encourages the listener to send in their excuse if it is not covered in this title. She manages to cover most of the common excuses we have. The ones most relevant to me, are the ones to do with family.

This is not a how to as much as it is a motivational. There are no recipes, diet plans, or any of that nature. So if that is what you are looking for, I would suggest you look for another title. Some reviewers were disappointed because they didn’t understand what was inside this little gem.

We are often our own worse enemy, and it reassuring to hear that you are not alone!

Review: Playing the Rookie (Men of Spring Baseball Novella) by Rachelle Ayala

My ReviewsSomebody is wearing their horny pants!

Playing the Rookie is a Novella in the Men of Spring Baseball Series by Rachelle Ayala.

There are currently 4 parts in this series with 2 being available in audio.
The rest are due soon!

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel narrate the series.
(They are an awesome duo!)

HEA with no cliffhangers!

Book notes for Playing the Rookie states that this Novella can be read at anytime along with the Men of Spring Series 1-3.
I personally would suggest reading it first. ♥

Length: 2 hrs and 32 mins

Content Advisory:
Author’s Heat rating is Steamy: Sex and lovemaking shown with naughty words for body parts. Love and lust intertwined, but couple is monogamous.

Ebook currently free with Kindle Unlimited

♥ Story ♥

This Novella is short but oh so sassy good. If you are starting with this title, then you get some early introductions to the sights and sounds that makes up the “world” that is this series. You will also get to meet and greet a few characters that you will see again.

Jessica ❤ Jay

Jessica Song is interning for spring training, and spends way to much time talking to her lady bits. Jay Pak Ahn is a sponsored rookie pitcher from Korea trying to make a good showing that will hopefully lead to a long term spot on an American team.

Both of them are horny and tired of waiting for a relationship to get some. They are both gun shy on the relationship front because of their exes and decide to help each other out so they can indulge in the carnal. There is just this one big problem, neither are truly casual sex kinda people so they can’t help but get feelings involved in the equation.

I feel bad for Jessica that her default thoughts on any expressions of emotion by Jay is automatically one of regret. Once she finally confesses her back story, you can see where that stems from, but she does take it to the extreme. Usually those thoughts come with the goodbyes or lack of contact after the deed, not the moment after climax.

There are some twists and turns that will come as a surprise. This does not play out in a predictable fashion. It does have some throat punch worthy moments, so be prepared to run the gambit of emotions even for a short listen.

Review: The HOT Wolf (Werewolves On Heat #1)

My ReviewsHot Werewolf Indeed!

The Hot Wolf is #01 of 03 in Werewolves On Heat Series by Ellie Valentina.

Currently only #01 & #02 are in audio, but there are plans for #3 to follow.

Meghan Kelly narrates the series.

HEA with no cliffhangers!

These are connected by characters and story arc. If read as standalones, there would be spoilers for the earlier ones.

Length: 5 hrs and 33 mins

Content Advisory:
There are some sex references and scenes, but no “C” words were used.

Ava ❤ Chase

The Hot Wolf starts with a bang, quite literally!

The action doesn’t stop there, it carries on throughout the whole story. It all comes around full circle leaving you with a happy tear at the end.

“I only remember his eyes,” Ava had insisted then. “His eyes were hazel, but the most amazing green and goldish brown mixture I have ever seen.”

Ava

Ava Sparks is an orphan taken in by Drake and Sandra Sparks at age 10, to which she was promptly put into training to be a werewolf assassin. She is on a job at the beginning of the story that doesn’t go as planned. The damage manages to knock some memories loose that she cannot account for. All of these events set her on the path to her future, just not quite the way she had envisioned!

Chase

Chase Elliot is gorgeous, a billionaire, and a werewolf. He is Ava’s “Hail Mary Pass” of a job to get back into her parents good graces. Once they lock eyes though, all bets are off! Neither one is ready to let go of the other, but secrets can only keep for so long before they have to deal with the reality of the situation.

“From the ashes of hate sprung great love.”
–Elena

All is not as it seems, and the twists are crazy good! The truth can hurt though when you are left with the quilt of your actions. Rufus will make you laugh. The horse falls asleep standing in the street! Seriously! I can’t wait to continue this series.

“Rufus is an excellent mount, and he loves a pretty woman.”
–Chase

Review: The Innocent Dead (The Maid, Mother, and Crone #1) by Jill Nojack

My ReviewsGhosts, witches, and kittens oh my!

The Innocent Dead is a Cozy Mystery and #1 in The Maid, Mother, and Crone Series by Jill Nojack.

Read by Brian Callanan

HFN Ending

This series is a spin-off of the Bad Tom Series.
You get a temporary ending point, but the overall story arc continues.
My philosophy is ALWAYS to read a series in order! :-).

Length: 6 hrs and 56 mins

Content Advisory:
There are some mild sex references and scenes, but not much and no “C” words were used.

♥ Story ♥

The Innocent Dead hits the ground running, and almost leaves those of us who have not read the previous series behind. It took me a while to aclimate to this title, but once I caught on, I didn’t want to let go!

The series focuses on the triad of Maid, Mother, and Crone. Don’t assume elder witch Natalie is the crone, because she will be more than happy to tell you why you are wrong. The ladies of the story all come with their own strengths and weaknesses, but each one is just as endearing. There is also potential fresh blood being introduced.

This story has a mystery at it’s heart, and it is an adventure to figure out. A murderer from the past is killing again, but the one they are blaming has been missing for several decades. Lucky for them, Natalie sees dead people, quite litereally. But how do you explain that to a skeptic Sherriff? Seriously, they need to get that guy a girlfriend.

It’s entertaining, heartwarming, and all magical. I want to read the Bad Tom series now. Hopefully that will come to audio in the near future. I will definately be listening to the rest of this series.

Review: The Beer’s Folded and the Laundry’s Cold By Paige Kellerman

My ReviewsA Comedy Any Mother Would Find Humor In!

The Beer’s Folded and the Laundry’s Cold is a comedy by Paige Kellerman.

Read by Rebecca Hansen

Length: 5 hrs and 16 mins

♥ Story ♥

If you are a housewife or a mother or wife, you will find laughs listening to this. There are definitely several scenarios I have found myself suck in as a mother and wife. I feel this whole title could of used some more structure as the writing jumps around a lot without any warning and it becomes confusing at times. About the time you figure that out, it jumps to somewhere else in time. This is more a rant than a story, but for those of us who have lived even a smidge of this, it can be somewhat cathartic!
