Non-Fiction Reads: Game of Thrones: Prophecies and Dreams

My Reviews
A lot of tidbit you won’t see on TV!

If you download the ebook, which is free for Kindle Unlimited members, it has a note that states that the book is constantly updated, so the audio and print may not match up.

The audio does not cover the last 13 episodes of the series which are being split into two seasons. The first half just concluded and the second half will play out next year.

The audio covers all that has happened so far in both the books and the television show. (see note above) The TV show is ahead time-line wise of the books, as Mr. Martin has deadline issues. There are still 2 more books due in the series.

This is a review of the various prophecies and dreams within the world of The Game Of Thrones as well as the books the show is based on. Many of these are not covered on the show as there is just not enough time to cover it all. The show-runners for GOT have expressed their desire to try and stay close to the over-all themes and stories from the books, so the unseen foreshadowing from the book should still hold true for the show as it does in the books.

There are some specific visions shown to Daney that I find most curious! Plus the most delectable one told to Cerci having to do with her being murdered by her younger brother! In her arrogance she has seemed to have forgotten that Jamie is actually her younger brother too! Even though I knew this already, I still like hearing about her demise because I really hate her.

Leanne Yau presents the information in a clear and precise manner. She is very easy to understand as well as being pleasant to listen to.

I give this a 5 for what it is, but also want to put a warning out there for those that are just starting the series either in print or TV, there will be spoilers.

This is a good catch up on things you may of missed so far as well as a nice refresher for before the season of the show starts. It also covers some theories and speculations, that as a fan, you know you have.

Leanne Yau does an excellent job of narrating this Non-Fiction read about a Fiction series. She presents the information in a clear and precise manner.

Review: Ken (Bad Boys for Hire, Book 2) by Rachelle Ayala

My Reviews
I love it and want more!

This is number 2 in the Bad Boys for Hire series, and my first of this series, and author. I do want to read number one now and definitely am looking forward to number 3. I also want to read other titles by this author.

I loved this story. It’s so much more than a man rescuing a damsel in distress. Both Ken and Jolie have their own issues in life to work out so that they can move on in love and living. Ken has always been living but hasn’t taken the time to love. Jolie has taken the time to love, but on her terms. She has never truly lived which forces her to inner reflect if she has truly loved.

Ken is the equivalent of Jerry O’Connell from Stand By Me. He was a chubby child that grew up to be a super fit hottie! He took a big header while surfing and while his career is on hold so his head can heal, we moonlights as a Bad Boys for Hire! Yes, it’s an escort service, but sex is specifically a no-no and is written into the contract.

Jolie is a bride without a groom! Her intended was caught literally with his pants down the night before the wedding by her bridesmaids, so in an attempt to keep Jolie from looking foolish, Ken is hired to be a stand-in.

Ken recognizes Jolie from their childhood school days and now that he is no longer the pumpkin boy, he wants to see if he can get her to fall for him. Jolie on the other hand has no clue this fit and fabulous man before her is that same little boy that was in her play at school so long ago.

I completely adored Ken’s interactions with his sister, Carol, who fell off a mountain while climbing it during a winter storm, and now is in a wheelchair. He was an awesome brother and friend and I look forward to the next book which features Carol in her own HEA!

Chris Abell was excellent in his narration. Both male and female characters were completely believable and it was easy to get lost in the story. He does remind me a bit of Casey Kasem but unless you are in your thirties or older, you probably have no idea whom I’m talking about.

I give this 5 of 5 stars, and recommend it especially as a palate cleanser for in between the heavier, more dark reads.

Review: The Juggling Author by Jim Heskett

My Reviews

Great addition to your writers tool box!

This book is exactly what it claims to be and not to be. It’s about juggling writing and everything else. There are a lot of examples, suggestions, details, but they are upfront that you are the biggest part of the equation. It takes hard work on your part, and this is not a get rich quick kind of book.

The author is a real example of how to make it work with a busy life. He has a family, full time job, and is a writer.

Chapters are short but full of information. I’m glad I could get the ebook version through kindle unlimited for free because it makes finding the referenced suggestions easier. Just click the link inside the book while listening and you are brought straight to the book on amazon. For me it is an easy way to grab the title and put it into a search at my library’s online catalog. I also found many of the titles on Scribd.

The narrator, John Alan Martinson Jr. has a great voice that I loved listening to, and would make a good narrator for a romance book. Sadly, despite have a long list of titles on Audible, he has no romances listed. Perhaps he has a pen name that he uses for other genres. I can only hope!

I give this 5 stars because it delivers on what it claims and it is a title that will be going into my writers tool box for sure!

You had me at the title!

This was a fun ride of a book!

I love some comedy with my steam, and this author definitely delivers.

Some may find a talking “Peen” an instant “No” when reading the book description, but I am here to tell you to rethink that thought and say “Yes” to this story. We always make comments and jokes about men being led by their brain below the belt and this story simply gives it a name and a voice. Oddly enough, this actually make it less creepy.

Holly has not had as much luck of late in the boyfriend department. She agrees to a date set-up with her best friend’s brother on Halloween. (I don’t know how she has never met him already considering they live in the same town and it is her best friend, but if they had, we wouldn’t get this story.) They are to meet at a bar in costume. Holly’s naughty nurse to his Sexy Doctor.

Mathew is a Physician’s Assistant meeting his brothers for a drink after work at the same bar. It was a long day and he didn’t bother to change out of his work clothes. Holly has already been waiting for over an hour for her date to show so thinks the hottie in the scrubs at the bar is Jayne’s brother. Not being able to resist what Holly is throwing at him, Mathew doesn’t correct her. What we get is a funny romp through a comedy of errors.

Mathew was completely adorkable who needs to invest in some super glue for Holly’s feet. Holly needs to quit it with the cinnamon booze! That way only lies puke!

This audiobook was narrated by both Tor Thom and Charley Ongel and they complimented each other well. Tor Thom be still my little heart! His voice was deep and sexy and I would love to hear him voicing a shifter romance! I wanted to slap Holly a couple times, which says to me that Charley Ongel did an excellent job.

I give this title 5 of 5 stars and would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good romance with a side of laughs.

This title is featured in the Read Along With Me section.
